Grand Canyon Train Tour Frequently Asked Questions

Are food and beverages included in the Grand Canyon Railway tour?

During the Grand Canyon Railway tour, a breakfast snack and a fresh deli lunch are included. We will also provide you with bottled water as needed. The train includes a cafe car where you can purchase snacks and drinks during the train ride. Cash is the only form of payment accepted in the cafe car.

Is gratuity expected?

Tips are greatly appreciated for a job well done. We suggest a 10% tip minimum as this is the industry standard.

How long is the tour?

Approximately 14 hours from pick-up to drop-off. The train ride is 2 hours long from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon South Rim.

What to bring?

  • A camera for photos
  • A government-issued photo ID (required for all train tours)
  • A beverage with a screw-on cap
  • A phone charger
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Cash or credit cards if you’re planning to purchase anything such as souvenirs

What to wear?

Due to the elevation difference, the weather in the Grand Canyon can be very different than in Las Vegas. In the summer, it is hot and can rain often. In the winter you will want to dress much warmer as it can snow. Dressing in layers and checking the weather the day of your tour is highly recommended. Remember to wear sunblock and hats for protection.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours from the start of the tour. Cancellations received less than 24 hours before the tour will not be refunded. For refund requests and questions, email: custsvc@grandcanyondestinations.com

Are there any additional fees or surcharges?

No. There are no additional charges the day of your tour and no fuel surcharge.
